Rashard Higgins, WR, Colorado State

Former Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper punched his ticket to NYC last year with 1,727 yards and 16 touchdowns. Colorado State’s Rashard Higgins trumped those numbers at 1,750 and 17 — and he did so in two fewer games.

“Hollywood” Higgins returns as the star of the Ram offense once more.

Higgins is football’s answer to the big-budget action flick. And what goes better with an explosive action vehicle than popcorn? Bearing that in mind, Colorado State media relations offered reporters bags of Hollywood Higgins brand popcorn at Mountain West media days in Las Vegas.

The difference between Higgins’ production and that of other standout wide receivers — like, say, an Amari Cooper — is that the latter have big-budget blockbuster backing.

Playing in the Mountain West, Higgins is the indie answer to the same old teams garnering Heisman consideration.
