Week 3 Saturday Six-Pack: Ole Miss-Alabama Headlines

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditmail

College football’s Week 3 slate is much sexier on paper than last Saturday’s offerings. Then again, Week 2 gave us Toledo upsetting Arkansas; FCS Jacksonville State taking Auburn to overtime; and another BYU Hail Mary finish.

Hmm…maybe the moral of the story is don’t complain about a college football Saturday. Oh, who am I kidding? This is the Internet! Complain away.

Finding fault in Week 3 takes an especially keen sense of kvetch. A trio of Top 25 matchups highlight an impressive Saturday, and given Duke probably should be ranked, a fourth game the quality of a Top 25 matchup is also in the mix.

This is indeed the tastiest looking Six-Pack of the season. Click the page numbers below to cycle through all six game previews and predictions.

2015 SIX-PACK RECORD

Last Week: 2-4 overall; 2-4 ATS

On The Season: 8-10 overall; 9-9 ATS

Last week didn’t go so well, with Mississippi State, Oregon, Boise State and Cincinnati all falling despite my confidence. Can you believe it?

I can’t guarantee the Saturday Six-Pack will always be top-flight, but the week’s six-pack always will be.

SATURDAY’S SIX-PACK: SIERRA NEVADA OKTOBERFEST

Week 3 coincides with the kickoff of Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. What better way to commemorate the occasion than by bringing together one of the best traditions of Deutschland with one of the best traditions of the United States?

College football and a German-style marzen beer might seem an unusual pairing, but it’s actually quite perfect. Oktoberfest welcomes autumn, and autumn marks conference play around college football.

You can credit an improved (on paper) Saturday for conference action nearing or beginning this week.
