6. Navy Midshipmen
Navy drops a spot in the Group of 5/Independent Top 10 as a result of its Week 2 bye. The Midshipmen return to action in Week 3 with a historic showdown against East Carolina, their first-ever conference game in program history.
Navy won two over East Carolina as an independent in the last half-decade, including a memorable 2010 contest in which the Mids hung 76 points.
5. Western Kentucky Hilltoppers
Week 2 kicked off with an entertaining shootout between preseason C-USA favorites, Western Kentucky and Louisiana Tech.
Louisiana Tech hammered Western Kentucky in 2014, forcing nation-leading quarterback Brandon Doughty into his worst game of the season. Doughty got his payback last Thursday, throwing for 441 yards in a 41-38 win.
The Hilltoppers jumped up big early but let Louisiana Tech come back. However, the first two quarters were some of the most impressive football any Group of 5 team has played this season.
