Though SEC dominance is under rightful scrutiny three weeks into the college football season, the conference dominates the early Heisman conversation.

A new SEC running back has taken over the top spot of the CFB Huddle Heisman Top 10, while an SEC quarterback jumps into the mix after a high-profile win.

As always, the Heisman Top 10 is a fluid model tracking both performance and hype surrounding contenders for college football’s top individual honor.

Florida State RB Dalvin Cook: Dalvin Cook entered Florida State’s ACC tilt Friday against a rugged Boston College defense leading all Power Five ball-carriers in rushing yards, but was held to just 54 yards against his first Power Five opponent.

Cook came out of Friday’s contest early in the fourth quarter with an injury head coach Jimbo Fisher told reporters wasn’t “anything major.” He has a bye week to heal before the Seminoles face Wake Forest.

Ohio State Utility Braxton Miller: Braxton Miller threw his first pass of the season: a completion for three yards. Like much of the Ohio State offense against Northern Illinois, Miller was wholly unspectacular.

UCLA QB Josh Rosen: Since the knee-jerk reaction to his stellar debut, Josh Rosen has looked like…well, a talented but still-learning true freshman. He was intercepted three times in the Bruins’ one-point win over BYU, though he capped a pivotal drive in the second half with a key touchdown pass to wide receiver Jordan Payton.

Still, Rosen’s now thrown four picks in his freshman campaign with just five touchdowns.

Clemson QB Deshaun Watson: Clemson slogged to an ugly, 20-17 win at Louisville Thursday. Deshaun Watson threw for both of the Tigers’ touchdowns, but also made a few confounding plays, including an arm punt.
