Utah State’s blowout of Boise State threw much of the Group of Five picture into flux, but not for at the top.

The American Athletic Conference has consistently looked like the cream of the Group of Five crop, and Week 7 only furthered that perception.

Memphis’ 37-24 defeat of Ole Miss scored the entire Group of Five its most impressive win of the season, say nothing of the American.

The only Group of Five conference not represented in this week’s Top 10 is the Sun Belt, though that could change soon. In one of Week 8’s low-key best matchups, one-loss Georgia Southern travels to one-loss Appalachian State.

The longtime Southern Conference rivals are accustomed to battling one another for league supremacy. The change of venue to the Sun Belt shouldn’t matter much in this ESPNU-broadcast Thursday from Boone.
