8. BAYLOR WR COREY COLEMAN

Saturday demonstrated the pitfalls of being a wide receiver in pursuit of the Heisman, and shed some light into why only two have ever won the award.

Corey Coleman’s best game in a remarkable 2015 season preceded his worst. He caught just three passes for 34 yards, but Coleman’s performance was a reflection of the struggles BU faced with a true freshman quarterback against a superior defense.

The Baylor receiver Coleman, on pace for NCAA records, is not ranked by either of Fox Sports’ national writers, Bruce Feldman or Stewart Mandel in the wake of his season-worst night.

7. STANFORD RB CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY

Stanford may have lost a 38-36 heartbreaker to Oregon in Week 11, but Christian McCaffrey had arguably his most impressive game of the season.

Pertinent to his Heisman candidacy, McCaffrey’s 147-yard rushing, 42-yard receiving came with Stanford playing in a prominent kickoff window on Fox.

McCaffrey’s 2015 is written in the Stanford record books, and he has plenty more opportunity to add to his record-setting output.

Christian McCaffrey has already broken @StanfordFball record for all purpose yards … and there are at least 3 games left.
