The last Saturday of October is almost complete, and the ACC Coastal championship race is no more clear now than it was in the summer.
The American Athletic Conference is something of the conference without a nation, so when East Carolina beat Virginia Tech Saturday in Blacksburg, it’s somewhat fitting that it was a Pirates’ flag flying high over ACC Country.
Certainly, other divisions in other conferences around college football are deeper and more top-heavy than the ACC Coastal. At best, the division will have one team crack the preseason Top 25-barely, if at all. But no division promises the same kind of top-to-bottom unpredictably heading into the 2014 as the ACC Coastal.
